Before a heist: agree roles, cuts and the finish line

On this page

Before buying supplies or launching the next setup, agree what your group is trying to finish. A first clear, a quick repeat and a challenge attempt need different expectations.

Check the practical constraints

  • Confirm compatible platform and game edition.
  • Confirm the player count the chosen activity requires.
  • Agree how long everyone can stay.
  • Check who is hosting and what preparation is already complete.

Agree the money before the action

Read the displayed reward conditions and player cuts together. Separate the group’s possible take from what each person receives. If the host paid preparation costs, decide how you will account for that before launching rather than arguing after the finale.

Give each player a clear job

Choose who handles interactions, who covers them and who leads the next movement. Use simple call-outs. If someone is learning, give them time to understand the objective instead of expecting them to copy a route they have not seen.

Set a sensible stopping point

Finishing one setup cleanly can be a good session. If a teammate must leave soon, do not begin a long unfamiliar finale just because the board is available. Challenge runs need an agreed plan for mistakes and restarts.
