Auto Shop earnings: read the payout screen before comparing jobs

On this page

Two players can quote different earnings for the same job without either screen being invented. One may quote gross take, another the final receipt, and another a temporary bonus. Start by labelling the number.

Use four columns

  • Amount displayed before deductions.
  • Amount actually received after the job.
  • Costs you personally paid.
  • Total time, including preparation and retries.

Keep arithmetic separate from game rules

For an illustration, GTA$250,000 received minus GTA$10,000 spent leaves GTA$240,000. If the complete session took an hour, that is the session return. If it took two hours, the hourly average halves. These are example inputs, not a quoted contract payout.

Compare like with like

Use the same boundaries for each run. Do not time one job from the first preparation and another from the final checkpoint. Keep first-time awards and temporary boosts in their own column so an exceptional receipt does not become your ordinary expectation.

Make the next purchase fit the work

If you enjoy the missions and can repeat them comfortably, that matters. If the strongest-looking job is rarely available when you want it, record what you actually do instead. The aim is a repeatable session you like, not a maximum you have never received.
