Before your next Survival: a five-minute preparation routine

On this page

The quickest way to waste a good Survival run is to start without reading the objective you wanted to complete. Before joining, decide whether you are practising, aiming for a complete clear or pursuing a particular challenge.

Read the requirement first

Write down the exact condition in your own words. A wave target, full clear and no-death requirement are different tasks. Check the dated weekly page for the event reference, then confirm the challenge shown in your game.

Prepare the group

Agree roles before launching. One player can call changes of position while everyone keeps track of the approach they are watching. Restock what you normally use, choose a sensible first position and leave yourself an exit if enemies pressure it.

Do not assume another player’s favourite spot works for every layout. Spend the opening section learning sightlines and movement. If a teammate needs to move, say so before leaving an approach unwatched.

Protect progress

When the objective depends on survival, avoid turning a manageable encounter into a sprint for one extra kill. Regroup if the team spreads too far. Keep instructions brief enough to hear over the game: where the pressure is, who is moving and where help is needed.

Check the result

After finishing, inspect the challenge state and the reward message. A general mission completion is not proof that every separate objective registered. Note the result before trying again so you know what needs to change.
