Panther week: Cayo's biggest target is guaranteed from August 6, with a free million on top
Image: Rockstar GamesThe most valuable item in GTA Online is coming back, and for one week there is no gambling involved. From Wednesday 6 August to Wednesday 12 August, the Panther Statue returns to El Rubio''s vault on Cayo Perico, and Rockstar has confirmed a 100% chance of it appearing on your first playthrough of the heist during the window. No scope-out lottery, no restarting preps to reroll the target. Run the heist, the statue is there.
The numbers make this the money week of the summer. The Panther Statue pays GTA$1,900,000 as a primary target, rising to GTA$2,090,000 on Hard Mode, and crucially it came through July''s Title Update 1.73 rebalance completely untouched while the everyday targets were cut. The Pink Diamond, the best statue-less primary, now pays GTA$1,001,000 on Hard, which leaves the Panther nearly GTA$1.1 million clear of anything you can normally pull from that vault.
And Rockstar is stacking a second offer on the same dates. The End of Summer giveaway hands every player who logs into GTA Online between 6 and 12 August a flat GTA$1,000,000, delivered within 72 hours of signing in, no missions or conditions attached. Add a Hard Mode Panther run with decent secondary loot and a single session on 6 August can realistically clear GTA$3 million.
The move to make before Wednesday
There is a known trick worth planning around: the guaranteed statue applies to the first playthrough completed during the window, so the sharp play is to run your Cayo preps now and hold the finale. Finish the setup board this week, park the heist, then launch the finale once 6 August arrives and bank the statue on run one. From there the standard rhythm applies, with the finale cooldown sitting at around two hours and twenty-four minutes between runs, and completing the heist during the week also awards the Panther Tour Jacket free.
The wider week
Panther week is the second half of the Summer Heist Event. The current week''s double first-completion payouts on The Fleeca Job and The Pacific Standard Job end on 5 August, so anyone chasing those boosts is on the clock, and the event''s superyacht and Cayo side bonuses continue alongside the statue window. As ever, the weekly reset lands on Thursday, so expect the full detail of any further bonuses when Rockstar''s Newswire confirms them.
If you have never run Cayo Perico, this is genuinely the week to learn it: our complete Cayo Perico guide covers the Kosatka purchase, the solo route, the Elite Challenge and the full post-rebalance loot table, and the heists comparison lays out where the statue week fits in the wider Thursday circuit. One statue, one free million, seven days. Set the preps up now.
