Vehicles guide

Vehicles: the complete guide to building the right garage

GTA Online has around seven hundred vehicles and a functioning garage needs about eight of them. Everything else is taste, and taste is wonderful, but this guide is about the machines that actually change how the game plays: the ones that make money faster, make grinding painless, and keep you alive while both happen. Prices are verified against the current game and tracked testing as of early August 2026.

Step 1: the first GTA$700,000

  • The Armored Kuruma, GTA$698,250 with the armour: near-bulletproof from the seats, and it trivialises early mission combat so thoroughly it feels like cheating
  • Check your free entitlements first: the Duke O Death is free for eligible returning players and shrugs off three rockets, and the Elegy RH8 has been the free daily driver for a decade
  • Learn the Buzzard trick the day you register as CEO: the attack helicopter spawns next to you on request for nothing, which makes it the best value aircraft in the game before you ever buy one

Step 2: the grinder trinity

  • The Kosatka, GTA$2,200,000: unlocks Cayo Perico, stores the toys, and works as a mobile command room. The single most important purchase in GTA Online
  • The Sparrow, around GTA$1.8 million as the Kosatka helicopter: the fastest practical commute in the game and the reason Cayo preps take minutes instead of evenings. It is made of paper, and it is worth it
  • The Toreador, GTA$4,250,000: a sports car that is also a submarine with unlimited missiles and a rocket boost. The best all-round personal vehicle Rockstar has ever sold, and the correct answer to most freemode problems

Step 3: the empire garage

  • The Terrorbyte: sourcing hub, Oppressor workshop, missile jammer, and since Agents of Sabotage it can house the Master Control Terminal, running every business from one van
  • The Oppressor Mk II, GTA$8,000,000 since the 2023 revaluation, trade price via five Terrorbyte client jobs, missiles fitted only in the Terrorbyte workshop. The honest verdict: nerfed in 2022, priced like a yacht, still the most convenient commute ever made, and entirely optional now the Sparrow and Toreador exist
  • A Mobile Operations Center or Avenger earns its place as the weapon workshop that unlocks the Mk II arsenal, which our weapons guide covers

Step 4: air and armour

  • The F-160 Raiju, GTA$6,855,000 or GTA$5,141,250 at trade: VTOL, hover and a stealth mode that hides it from radar, the current king of the sky
  • The Akula, GTA$4,500,000: the stealth helicopter, invisible on the minimap until you make it otherwise, and the connoisseur pick for quiet business defence
  • The Nightshark for four-seat armoured errands, and the classic Insurgent line where a crew needs moving under fire

Step 5: go fast

  • The fastest car in the game is the Bravado Banshee GTS from Agents of Sabotage, tested at 138mph fully upgraded, ahead of the Weevil Custom and the legendary Pariah
  • On PS5, Xbox Series and PC Enhanced, Hao Special Works takes it further: unlock HSW with the call from Hao and the Time Trial at the LS Car Meet, and HSW conversions push select cars past everything
  • The HSW Banshee GTS holds the outright land record at a tested 172.5mph, with the Itali GTO Stinger TT at 168.5 and the Vigero ZX at 158 for a GTA$550,000 conversion, one of the best value speed buys in the game
  • Racing is not top speed: the Pariah and Itali RSX remain the handling benchmarks, and the free weekly HSW Premium Test Ride is the smart way to try before seven-figure buying

The reference layer

Two systems worth knowing before spending. Imani Tech, fitted in the Agency vehicle workshop, adds the Missile Lock-On Jammer and remote functions to a growing list of vehicles, expanded by fifty more with Agents of Sabotage, and a jammer-fitted daily driver quietly removes most of freemode misery. And the sensible buy order for a new account runs: Kuruma, then Kosatka, then Sparrow, then Toreador, then whatever your heart wants, because by then the first three have paid for it. The Oppressor Mk II sits deliberately late on that list: buy it when GTA$8 million is pocket change, not before.

Where it fits

The garage is infrastructure for everything else on this desk: the Kosatka carries the heists, the Sparrow carries the preps, the Toreador carries you, and the sell missions in every business guide assume something fast and armoured is available. The vehicles comparison ranks every class side by side, and everything lives at sixcentral.co.uk/online, on the site and in the SixCentral app.

Kuruma, Kosatka, Sparrow, Toreador. Four purchases, and Los Santos folds. The other six hundred and ninety-six vehicles are for love.
