Heist guide

KnoWay Out: the complete guide

KnoWay Out is the contract strand that came with the Safehouse in the Hills update, and it is one of the better solo paydays in GTA Online right now. Avi Schwartzman calls you convinced the city new self-driving KnoWay taxis are an FIB mass-surveillance scheme, which, this being Los Santos, they are. Your job is to sabotage the operation, steal the data and wreck their reputation. It runs solo or co-op and pays properly for a strand with no property buy-in.

This guide is the full run: how to unlock it, the five missions in order, the finale step by step and the Elite bonus. Figures are tested community values as of early August 2026.

Step 1: unlock it

  • KnoWay Out is a contact mission strand, not a property heist, so there is nothing to buy
  • Answer the payphone Avi directs you to. He communicates through payphones across the city throughout the strand, which is part of the paranoid-surveillance theme
  • One to four players. Solo is entirely doable and the best personal profit; a crew just speeds up the fights

Step 2: work the strand

  • The five missions build the usual way: casing the KnoWay operation, sabotaging their vehicles and infrastructure, and lifting the high-value data Avi wants off the FIB servers
  • Expect a spread of jobs, from data theft to vehicle chases, with side tasks like collecting marked garbage bags paying small bonuses along the way
  • Each mission pays on completion, and the strand tells you it can be replayed from a payphone in Alta once you have finished it

Step 3: the finale, A Clean Break, step by step

  • As the mission begins, head straight to the van and grab the hacking device
  • Use it to pull the data and wipe KnoWay records off the FIB servers, cutting their surveillance and their reputation in one
  • Fight clear of the response and lose the police heat that follows
  • Get on the jet ski at the marked point and ride to the rendezvous, shaking the last of the cops on the water
  • Reach Avi at the marked location, watch the closing cutscene, and collect the payout

The reference layer: what it pays

The finale pays the host around GTA$525,000 on a standard run, and completing every KnoWay Out mission as a crew member earns GTA$250,000. A full clean playthrough with the side tasks and a strong route pushes the strand total well past a million, with tested co-op runs reaching around GTA$1.4 to 1.5 million. For Prix Luxury mansion owners there is also a one-time epilogue, Home Sweet Home, featuring Michael De Santa, which pays GTA$500,000 on completion. The Elite Challenge is refreshingly simple: complete the finale without using a quick restart, and take the bonus cash. Note that several of the strand rewards, the epilogue included, are one-time only, so a first run through is worth doing thoroughly rather than rushing. Weekly boosts apply when the rotation favours it, so check the week before you grind it. It is faster upfront than Cayo but weaker as a long-term loop, which makes it a strong once-a-week solo payday rather than an endless grind.

Finding a crew

KnoWay Out is a fine solo run, but a crew makes the fights quicker and the evening better, and GTA Online has no crossplay, so that crew shares your platform. The SixCentral Heist Finder lists it on the board, one tap to join, gamertags straight to the host, Xbox and PS5 kept apart. It runs in our Discord, which opens from your account page, and the online desk lives at sixcentral.co.uk/online.

Answer the payphone, do the first run properly for the one-time money, then drop back in on the weeks it pays best. Avi will not stop calling, and honestly, you will not want him to.
